Dar es Salaam holds both ends of the tournament

The opening match is on Saturday 19 June 2027 in Dar es Salaam, and the final is on Saturday 17 July 2027 in the same city. Both dates are confirmed by CAF.

The Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, capacity around 60,000, is the Tanzanian venue. As with every venue, final allocation rests with CAF.

Practically, that makes Dar the one city worth being in twice - at the start and at the end - rather than passing through once.

Zanzibar, an hour away

Zanzibar is about an hour off the coast from Dar es Salaam. Stone Town's spice-route lanes and carved doors are a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the sandbanks are a short boat ride beyond them.

Opening week is when this works best, before the tournament tightens and while the schedule is still forgiving.

It is the most requested addition we hear about, and the one people put on a wall when they get home.
